Mario Carcamo, O.D.Dr. Mario Carcamo did his undergraduate and graduate work at the prestigious University of California at Berkeley. He then began his career working at the Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, where he held hospital privileges. He had a private practice in Palo Alto, California before moving to south Florida in 1992, where he has been expanding the scope and locations of his practice till present day. He has a certification in Vision clinical research from NOVA University, where he is currently working towards a Masters with emphasis in Ocular Disease. In addition, he is one of the first optometrists to become a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry (ABO). Dr. Carcamo does research and development work in specialty contact lens, and digital ophthalmic lenses manufacturing. Besides, his vast experience in binocular vision and complicated refractions he is also an expert in fitting specialty contact lenses including pediatrics Orthokeratology and Scleral Lenses. Doctor of the Year Award by Cohen’s Fashion Optical, he has being a member of the American Optometric Association since 1984. He is also a member of VOSH international, and has been involved in many missions to help those in need in third world countries.
Adriana Carcamo, O.D.Dr. Adriana R. Carcamo is our Associate Clinical Director, she completed her undergraduate coursework in Florida International University. She then entered Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry and completed her B.S. in Vision Science. While simultaneously completing her Doctor of Optometry degree, she started working on a Masters of Science in Clinical Vision Research. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in May 2011 and went on to fulfill a Residency in Ocular Disease at Aran Eye Associates in 2012. Dr. Carcamo is Certified by the American Board of Optometry. She is a member of the Miami-Dade Optometric Physicians Association, Florida Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. She is currently continuing her endeavor to achieve a Masters of Science in Clinical Vision Research at Nova Southeastern University and become a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Doctor Adriana is also a Clinical Professor of Optometry for the Eye Care Institute at Nova Southeastern University and is affiliated to Airala Laser and Cataract Institute involved in post-operative management. Outside of her career, her proudest accomplishments are completing a half marathon in 2012 and 10 sprint triathlons (and counting).
Jennifer Lage, O.D.Dr. Jennifer Lage graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelors degree in Dietetics and Nutrition.
She then went on to pursue her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University. She graduated in 2004 as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society after completing her internship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
She currently practices full scope optometry in the Miami and Weston offices.
Stephen Morris, O.D., F.A.A.ODr. Stephen Morris has provided outstanding eye care for our South Florida eye care patients for the past 49 years (since 1964). Dr. Stephen Morris is committed to professionalism, follow-up care and guidance. He offers comprehensive eye care services - from primary vision care to medical and surgical eye care including: correct nearsighted, farsighted and astigmatism including family optometry, glasses and contacts, general eye diseases, glaucoma care and diabetic eye care. Dr. Morris specializes in contact lenses and sports vision. He is the Team Eye Physician for both University of Miami and Florida International University Sports Medicine Program's since 1992 (until the present time). He has been an adjunct professor for 3 Optometry Schools for the past 30 years: Southern College of Optometry, Pennsylvania College of Optometry and recently Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Morris has been married for 51 years, has 3 children, 5 grandchildren. He is a Certified Optometric Physician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He has been a member of the Dade County Medical Association School Health Advisory Committee for more than 35 years. Has been President of many organizations including Dade County Optometric Association (now called Miami Dade Optometric Physicians Association), Florida Optometric Association, Heiken Children’s Vision Fund (for 8 years), United Vision Care Plan (for 9 years), South Florida Interprofessional Council. Has won special awards to name a few: Optometrist of the Year (Dade County) Optometrist of the Year (Florida Optometric Association) Optometrist of the Decade (Florida Optometric Association) Was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Florida Optometric Association Community Support Award from MADD (2004) Thank You Award from MADD (2012) Founders Recognition Award from the Miami Lighthouse Heiken Childrens Vision Program (2009) Currently he is very happy to be associated with Dr. Mario Carcamo at New Vision Unlimited.
